We’re proud to partner with Empowered Forward – delivering nationally recognised Mental Health First Aid courses to Cairns and surrounds, or Australia-wide upon request.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence based course that teaches participants how to provide initial support to someone with a mental health problem or who is experiencing a mental health crisis, until professional help is received or until the crisis resolves.

For anyone supporting someone with mental health challenges—whether professionally or personally—Mental Health First Aid courses provide essential tools to navigate difficult moments with empathy, clarity, and confidence.

The course is especially valuable for NDIS providers and support workers, offering practical tools that directly enhance the quality of care; as it builds workforce capability, aligns with NDIS Practice Standards, and reinforces trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches.

Staff trained in Mental Health First Aid are better prepared to support participants with complex needs, respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations, and create safer, more empowering environments for everyone involved.

Participants who complete all course requirements become accredited Mental Health First Aiders.

Accreditation is valid for 3 years.
